What are we all about?
“My name is Maria Gutierrez, I was born in Mexico, my parents were both from Spain. I moved to Canada with my family. Where we settled for over 19 years. My passion and background as a Montessori Teacher, working for large corporations, being a competitive athlete and a yoga instructor for 10 years, made me think of a convincing way of doing business, but better.
In 2015 we created our own Canadian company; Derivative Solutions; as brokers of innovation with great success. We wanted to be able to serve our clients with real-time solutions. Our curiosity landed us to many methods that based their results in using a Creative Thinking mindset. This was a massive breakthrough for us and opened up a whole new world of opportunities. So what started as curiosity ended being part of our business model.
We moved to Bilbao, Spain over a year ago to expand our operations. And together we bring you our years of experience, research and success stories from our clients. Working along with Harvard University and our team with over 30 years of experience we create Malabar Studio, a creative thinking space designed to offer you our unique and unprecedented methodology to Learn with a Purpose, become a creative thinker, an avid communicator and learn English in the process.
We assembled all the pieces together to bring you DCTL® Deliberate Creative Thinking and Learning method.
Our goal is simple but ambitious, to share what we do best and help you become someone that learns efficiently but with a purpose."
- Maria Gutierrez, Founder

Memberships
We have categorized our members by age groups. Your level of English for us is not so relevant, what you can’t contribute the person next to you will! ( 100% active participation)
No more lonely guys!

Workshops
We conduct our learning experience through what we like to call “Workshops.”
Why workshops and not classes or lessons? Each member will experience uniquely the power of the brain and the hands-on connection that unlocks creativity.
Our workshops are engineered to be dynamic, appropriately paced, and fun. They are leading to engaging in story making, communication, pronunciation, re-enactment, and participation, real-time feedback, and validation. The principles are to provide our members with multiple means of representation, expression, and continuous discovery.
Having our members build or act out their ideas, thoughts, standpoints or even understandings communicates information that is not only important for them as much as anyone around the table develops friendships, relationships and their knowledge of a language or to overcome any challenge, however, to building confidence, rapport and inclusion.
Your Experience
Our methodology relies on 3D experiences using tools such as LEGO® bricks.
At our Studio everyone has a voice, everyone is heard! No more lonely guys! They are leading to engaging in story making, communication, pronunciation, re-enactment, and participation, real-time feedback, and validation.

Why should you join Malabar?
As the world adapts towards the future, new knowledge, technologies and practices emerge.
What we learn in school usually becomes obsolete by the time we’re ready to start working, even more so, when we join the workforce. Preparing for the future requires creativity and confidence, skills not taught in a traditional classroom. Creativity and confidence are personal but don't worry by building clear and specific mental scaffolding you will improve your learning.

Creativity is personal
Creativity is a skill that can be managed and a process that can be learned. Creativity begins with a foundation of knowledge, learning a discipline, and mastering a way of thinking.
A creative person means to take risks to ignore doubt and face fears. It means breaking with routine and doing something different for the sake of doing something different.
